ABC Wins Thursday Ratings as ‘Expedition Impossible’ Debuts to Decent Numbers

With a promising opening for reality competition “Expedition Impossible,” ABC notched an easy win in the ratings Thursday–a night when the other networks aired mostly repeat programming, TVbytheNumbers.com reported.

ABC wound up with a 2.1 average rating for the night in adults 18-49, easily topping Fox (1.5 average), CBS (1.4), Univision (1.3) and NBC (0.8). CBS came out ahead in total viewers, averaging 7.4 million to 6.8 million for ABC, 4.8 million for Fox, 3.1 million for Univision and 2.2 million for NBC.

At 8 p.m. ABC’s "Wipeout" collected a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic, ahead of Fox’s "So You Think You Can Dance," which had a 1.9 in the same demo.

At 9 p.m. "Expedition Impossible" premiered to a 2.3 average rating in the 18-49 demo for the hour, airing against all repeats.

At 10 p.m. ABC’s season two premiere of "Rookie Blue" netted a 1.6 in the 18-49 demographic. NBC’s "Love Bites" had a 0.8 in the same demo for the hour.
