Veteran sportscaster Marv Albert has joined CBS as play-by-play announcer for the network’s “NFL on CBS” coverage, the network announced today.

CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus, in making the announcement, said: “Marv Albert is recognized throughout sports broadcasting as one of its true legends. Very few in the broadcasting industry can claim his combined accomplishments and remarkable longevity. We are extremely excited to add Marv to our ‘NFL on CBS’ team.”

Albert will continue to announce NBA games for TNT’s Thursday night coverage. He also will apparently continue his role as play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports and Turner Sports coverage of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.
