BBC Hires Former ‘CBS Evening News’ Producer, Moves to Expand U.S. News Operations

The BBC has hired a former producer of "CBS Evening News with Dan Rather" as executive producer of BBC News, America, reports TVNewser.com.

Dick Meyer will expand the BBC’s U.S. news-gathering operations, along with overseeing "BBC World News America" and the U.S. edition of BBC.com/news, the story says.

Meyer will start working at the BBC in February. He most recently served as executive editor of NPR and previously ran CBSNews.com, the piece adds.

  1. Say what you want about any particular slant, BBC has an excellent product. their radios ervie is impeccable. US newsers could take a few lessons of their professionalism and content. Way to go, Dick.
