A CNN host who stepped into a high-profile spot in the cable network’s prime-time lineup has notched a milestone: his lowest-rated month in the key news demographic, reports Deadline.com.

Piers Morgan, who took over the spot held by CNN fixture Larry King, hit the low point as he approaches his one-year anniversary at the network.

"Piers Morgan Tonight" has averaged 154,000 viewers 25 to 54 in November, down 4% from the numbers for King a year earlier, the story says.

As previously reported, Morgan recently decided to quit his work on NBC’s "America’s Got Talent" to focus on his CNN program.

  1. Larry King was frustratingly out of touch sometimes and conservative, but hrehad a charm and believable naivety that was endearing. Piers Morgan does not.
