TLC will debut a new reality television project about nerds and romance called "Geek Love," reports Entertainment Weekly. TLC ordered two 30-minute specials with the idea of launching the concept as a series if the specials are successful.

The specials focus on a speed-dating service at nerdy events like Comic-Con. The service, Sci-Fi Speed Dating, was founded by Ryan Giltch.

The first special airs Dec. 18 at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
