Hot Hollywood scribe Dan Fogelman, who wrote the comedy feature "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and Pixar’s "Cars," has had his pitch for a half-hour comedy about aliens in New Jersey bought by ABC, reports Deadline.com.

The plot of Fogelman’s spec script was about a family that moves into a gated neighborhood in New Jersey only to discover that their neighbors are aliens disguised as humans. "Modern Family" director Chris Koch will helm the pilot, with Fogelman executive producing with Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment.

The project joins another comedy pilot in the works at ABC, the Kirstie Alley sitcome “The Manzinis,” also exec produced by Kaplan, the story notes.
