ABC News President Ben Sherwood announced today that the network has decided on the new co-anchor of its overnight news program, "World News Now," and its half-hour morning newscast, "America This Morning," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The job is going to Paula Faris, who is currently at Chicago’s WMAQ-Channel 5 as a sports anchor/reporter.

Faris will be paired with Rob Nelson on the two programs, and will also contribute to "Good Morning America" and other ABC News platforms.

  1. Congratulations to Miss Paula Faris – and now about getting rid of this Kelly Ripa she got on the nerves of peoples !!! Thank you !

  2. I don’t appreciate her sexist and ageist comments whilst reporting the news. Nor do I care for her unprofessional laughing during inappropriate moments. Bring back the previous anchor.
