Tech & Engineering Emmys Go to NBC’s David Bloom, Along With Sony, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Among Others; Fox Sports’ David Hill Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

The 63rd Annual Technology & Engineering Emmys were handed out Thursday night by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which honored Fox Sports Media Group Chairman and CEO David Hill with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Among the recipients of awards in eight categories were SMPTE and SCTE, Mitsubishi, NBCUniversal, ATSC, Ericsson, Dolby Laboratories, Sony Corp. and Panasonic Corp. NBC’s David Bloom was honored along with the network and MTN Satellite Communications for development of integrated, deployable systems for live reporting from remote environments.

Samma (Front Porch Digital) received a Tech Emmy for the system for automated migration of media assets.

The ceremony was held in conjunction with the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
