After the departure of “Saturday Night Live’s” Abby Elliott from her lead role in Fox’s comedy pilot “Ned Fox Is My Manny,” which we reported previously, the part has been recast.

Deadline.com reports that Dakota Johnson, the 22-year-old daughter of Don Johnson ("Miami Vice") and Melanie Griffith ("Working Girl"), has snagged the role.

Dakota, who was in "Social Network," will play an uptight single mom who turns to her aimless brother to be her child’s “manny,” or male nanny.

Elliott dropped out of the project after a table read of the script for the pilot. Reportedly, Elliott was deemed too young at 24 for the part — the character is 26. But Johnson, at 22, is two years younger than Elliott. Nevertheless, Johnson made the right impression on the producers.
