The vintage game show format “Hollywood Squares” is returning to TV as “Hip Hop Squares” with a lineup that includes well-known hip hop personalities, MTV announced. The show will air on MTV2, where it’s set to premiere May 22.

MTV says in its announcement: “’Hip Hop Squares’ stays true to the tic-tac-toe format of the original game show, while infusing it with some of the biggest and most charismatic personalities in Hip Hop culture today, which transcends genre and crosses into the mainstream with its influence on everything from music to entertainment, fashion to comedy, and more.”

Among the personalities lined up for the show are Nick Cannon, Bam Margera, Kat Graham, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Biz Markie and Ghostface Killah.

The show will be hosted by Peter Rosenberg.

    …who?

  2. They are stars in that market and it could be very popular with the MTV crowd and hit the under 35 audience very well. It is actually a really good concept.

  3. Yeah, as a sponsor with a product to sell, I want to reach a bunch of unemployed/underemployed “Millennials,” who sit around in their parent’s basements all day and night watching MTV. That’s a demographic I’d kill to reach!!!!!
