In a ratings comparison that is admittedly imperfect but is worth noting nonetheless, Fox News Channel’s "The O’Reilly Factor" has drawn a larger audience than NBC’s prime-time news magazine "Rock Center with Brian Williams" for the second consecutive week, TVNewser.com reports.

"O’Reilly" drew 3.103 million viewers, compared with "Rock Center"’s 3.016 million, which the article calls "a victory" for Fox News.

Looking at the target news demo of viewers 25-54, however, "Rock Center" outpaced "O’Reilly" by more than half a million viewers, the story notes.

The story adds: “It should be noted that the comparison is an imperfect one — ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ airs at 8 p.m. ET, while ‘Rock Center’ airs at 10 p.m. ET. Additionally, Williams’ ‘Nightly News’ draws 3-4 times as many viewers daily as ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ does.”

The piece notes that Wednesday’s “O’Reilly” also beat the series premiere of NBC’s “Bent.” The sitcom opened to historically low numbers, as previously reported.
