For NBC’s “Mockingbird Lane,” a reboot of "The Munsters," creator Bryan Fuller ("Pushing Daisies") has cast the role of the one normal family member, Marilyn Munster, giving the part to British actress Charity Wakefield, reports Deadline.com.

The role was originated in the 1960s sitcom by Beverly Owen before Pat Priest took over the part.

In Fuller’s version of the story, Marilyn is a college student who clashes with Grandpa (Eddie Izzard) but has a good relationship with Uncle Herman, Aunt Lily and cousin Eddie. The latter three roles are still to be cast.

Wakefield is best known for starring in the BBC miniseries "Sense and Sensibility," which was broadcast on PBS.

  1. I vote Katie Sagal for Aunt Lily! And isn’t Brad Garrett a natural for Herman?
