Carol Mendelsohn, best known for her work on CBS’s "CSI" franchise, is producing a new show for the network that’s all about dogs, reports Deadline.com.

The reality series "Dogs In the City" focuses on Justin Silver, the owner of a New York City pet care company and an expert in dog behavior.

Said Mendelsohn: “Dogs are at the center of the story here, but this is a show that reveals as much about human nature as man’s best friend.”

Adding to Silver’s appeal as a central character is that he’s a comic and has a nonprofit charity called Funny for Fido, which raises money for homeless animals.

The show follows another dog-oriented project by Mendelsohn, who exec produced TNT’s drama pilot “Scent of the Missing,” focusing on search-and-rescue dogs.

CBS has scheduled "Dogs in the City" to debut May 30.
