Conde Nast Entertainment Group has filled two key executive positions, it was announced by Dawn Ostroff, president of the group.

Jeremy Steckler joins the company as executive VP of motion pictures and Michael Klein arrives as executive VP of alternative programming, with the appointments effective this month. Both men will report to Ostroff.

In making the announcement, Ostroff said: “I am delighted to welcome these talented executives on board as we build a team that is shaping the new ways in which Condé Nast creates and distributes its sought-after content. Jeremy’s and Michael’s strengths, combined with the significant impact of our brands, present a huge opportunity for us to grow our business across traditional, digital and new platforms.”

Ostroff, a veteran media executive, is the former president of entertainment for the CW network and longtime executive VP at Lifetime.

The company announced: “In his new role, Mr. Steckler will acquire and develop film properties and be based in Los Angeles. He was most recently executive vice president of production at Imagine Entertainment, where he oversaw production and development for major motion picture projects and television-to-film adaptations.”

On the other hiring, Conde Nast announced: “Mr. Klein will be responsible for the development and production of alternative programming. He joins Condé Nast from the Sundance Channel, where he was senior vice president for programming and development. There he created a new programming strategy and launched the largest slate in the network’s history.”

The moves follow the hiring earlier this year of Jeffrey Thompson, formerly of The Walt Disney Co., as vice president of business development.
