A sports analyst working for Fox is lobbying to become the first black "Bachelor," reports the New York Post. Fox Sports Northwest college basketball analyst Lamar Hurd posted a 10-minute audition video clip as part of a grass-roots campaign to join the ABC dating show, the story says.

The video has been gaining traction on YouTube, and “Bachelor” fans have begun promoting him as a candidate for the show.

The interest in Hurd’s campaign landed him a meeting, and he talked with network representatives this week, the story notes. If he’s picked, he will be the first African-American to star on the show, which has drawn criticism for being too white, the piece says.
