Keith Olbermann’s ouster from Current TV came after he allegedly made finicky demands and failed to promote the network, reports the New York Post.

Olbermann, for his part, released a statement saying he plans to sue Current, reports the New York Daily News.

In the statement, Olbermann writes, "It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current’s statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently."

As we reported previously, Olbermann’s show has been replaced with “Viewpoint With Eliot Spitzer.”

Olbermann’s firing came after a number of clashes, including several over the use of car services, the New York Post notes. Olbermann reportedly complained about drivers, and also refused to fill out vouchers to pay for the service, the piece adds.

He also refused to use the $250,000 set created by Current TV for his show, then complained about the plain black background he chose to use, and also failed to promote the network, the story says.

Olbermann reportedly took vacation days on important news days, and didn’t show up on days before several important primary elections, the piece adds.

  1. Of all the media outlets you could have used for this story, you went with the Murdoch-owned New York Post? You couldn’t find a source that was MORE biased against Olbermann?
There are reports indicating there was plenty of blame to go around for this debacle. I’d hope TV Week could do some of their own reporting to get a more complete picture than that offered by a news source that publicly loathes Olbermann.
