A famed Major League Baseball player and manager will be the star of a reality program on TLC, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.

"Pete Rose and Kiana Kim Family Project," the working title for the series, will follow the 71-year old Rose and his 30-something fiancee Kim as they blend their families, the piece notes.

TLC has started production on the series, which stars the 17-time All-Star who was banned from baseball for gambling on games while managing the Cincinnati Reds.

Some family members have reservations about the relationship between Rose and Kim, the story adds.

“We are a total modern-day family, mixing the cultures, the ages, the different backgrounds together. I didn’t even know who Pete Rose was when I first met him. It’s kind of a crazy story, but at the core of every family is love and it’s what TLC wants to show," Kim said.

“We’re just a normal family with 4,200 hits," Rose said, according to the article.

The show will track Kim getting a breast reduction and Rose taking his family to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. An ongoing controversy in baseball surrounds whether Rose, baseball’s all-time hit leader, should be made eligible for the Hall of Fame.

TLC will air five episodes later this year.
