Grammy Award-winning singer Gladys Knight is the latest star to get into a music competition television show, reports the AP. Knight will be the lead judge on "Apollo Live," a new series on the Centric network.

Centric is BET’s sister network.

The show will emanate from New York’s legendary Apollo Theater, where the Apollo’s classic amateur night showcase will be given a new spin. In addition to Knight, Doug E. Fresh and Michael Bivins will also be judges.

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx is executive producing and Tony Rock is the show’s host. "Apollo Live" will premiere this fall on Centric.
