HBO has ended its exclusive deal with a high-profile producer — the only producer who has won an Emmy, an Oscar, a Grammy and a Tony. TheWrap.com reports that the pay-cable network ended its deal with Scott Rudin.

Rudin, who was behind the feature film “The Social Network,” will continue to executive produce HBO’s “The Newsroom,” and will remain involved with the network on a number of other projects.

HBO said in a statement to TheWrap: “We have a number of projects with Scott. We are allowing Scott the flexibility to explore setting up some of the projects he brought to us elsewhere. With respect to the rest of our projects with Scott, including ‘The Newsroom,’ we look forward to our continued association.”

The report notes tht HBO scrapped the high-profile Rudin pilot "The Corrections" back in May. The project, based on Jonathan Franzen’s bestselling novel, would have featured a star-studded cast, including Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper, Dianne Wiest, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rhys Ifans.

The story notes: “Among the other projects still in play between Rudin and HBO: The comedy pilot ‘All Talk,’ which Ben Stiller is attached to star in. The pilot, written by ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ author Jonathan Safran Foer, will focus on a Jewish family living in Washington, D.C. The tone is described as ‘politically, religiously, culturally, intellectually and sexually irreverent.’"
