Actress Katie Holmes, who has been in the headlines because of her divorce from Tom Cruise, will focus on her career by returning to Broadway this fall, reports Reuters.

Holmes, who previously appeared on stage in a 2008 production of Arthur Miller’s "All My Sons," will star in a new comedy called "Dead Accounts." The playwright, Theresa Rebeck, was the head writer for the first season of the NBC musical drama "Smash."

Holmes will appear as the character Lorna in the play, which reportedly deals with "issues of corporate greed, small town values and whether or not your family will always welcome you back … with no questions asked,” according to a statement from reps for the production.

Tony winner Jack O’Brien is directing the play.
