La Toya Emerges as Voice of Reason in Jackson Family’s Public Meltdown

One Jackson family member who has surprised some observers by staying out of the family’s recent public squabble is La Toya Jackson. Usually anything but publicity shy, the sister of the late Michael Jackson has been noticeably absent from a widely publicized beef over guardianship of MJ’s children.

But TMZ.com reports that La Toya is finally sounding off. Her message to the family: Stop the public bickering.

“La Toya Jackson is a conscientious objector — refusing to take part in the Jackson media war because she believes all of the public feuding is damaging the family name,” the story reports.

The report adds: “We’re told La Toya feels very strongly that the most effective way to solve the family problems [is] not to attack each other in public … but rather hash things out quietly … and respectfully … in private.”

It’s unclear where she stands on the issue of guardianship, but sources cited in the report say La Toya is definitely not lined up with Janet, Randy, Jermaine and Rebbie.

La Toya also “wasn’t thrilled to see them camera-whoring all over TV this week,” the piece reports. “Bottom line — we’re told La Toya wants what’s best for Michael’s kids … and feels the quicker the family can stop making a public spectacle of themselves … the better off the kids will be.”

  1. Me-thinks that somebody, somewhere out there had a notion: “Hmmm. We haven’t heard a peep out of the Jackson clan for a good while. Let’s see what we can conjure up here…”
Hope you can RIP MJ, cause none of your family will.
