Keith Olbermann Offers a ‘Special Comment’ About Latest Romney Blunder

Sep 18, 2012  •  Post A Comment

Former MSNBC and Current TV commentator Keith Olbermann has been keeping a relatively low profile since his latest firing (from Current, back in March), but he resurfaced this week with what is in essence one of his trademark “Special Comments,” The Huffington Post reports.

The clip is Olbermann’s response to a new video that appears to damage GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney’s election chances. In the new Romney video, apparently shot without Romney’s knowledge during a fundraiser attended mainly by wealthy donors, the candidate makes what is being described as disparaging remarks about what Romney calls the 47% of the electorate that is going to vote for Barack Obama no matter what.

The new Olbermann clip has the commentator attempting to respond, in Olbermann’s words, to “Gov. Romney’s 47% tape and the news that his fundraiser was staged by a man who conducts sex parties on Long Island,” but Olbermann mainly just breaks out in laughter.

The Olbermann clip was originally posted on MobyPicture.com.

  1. Is there any doubt that a Romney administration would favor the rich and increase the income gap in our country? Mitt is a pariah in Mormon Clothing and will stop at nothing to expand an empire of greed for the rich in this country by expanding tax cuts for the 1% of the wealthiest Americans. He’s out to gut the Middle Class for every red cent he can get. Will his sacred Mormon underwear grant him the protection and money to buy this election? See for yourself as Mitt dons his tighty-whities sent down from the Good Lord Himself at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/05/mitt-romneys-magic-mormon-underwear.html

  2. It’s sad and pathetic that we’ve reached the point where the truth can be used as a bludgeon by those who have no problem with and support the ever-growing reliance of the population on Government handouts.
In short, everything Romney said is the truth… except it’s actually 49% of Americans pay no income tax.
You’d think people would be more frightened of that figure.

  3. Of please. Those Americans who have no federal income tax liabiity include some of the most over-taxed people in the country: the working poor who still pay sales taxes, payroll taxes, property taxes, utility taxes, gasoline taxes and every other tax there is under the sun.
This doesn’t make us “feel like victims,” or expect the federal government to take care of us, as Romney sneered. It just means that we didn’t make enough money or had enough legitimate deductions to offset.
In 2011, for example, I paid no federal income tax, largely because in 2010 I bought a house and used the bulk of my adoption tax credit. I am less reliant on government handouts than Mitt Romney himself, who I’m sure takes much more advantage of the tax code than I ever could. (Maybe that’s why Romney won’t release his taxes — maybe he has no tax liability either)
Ironically, most of the owe-no-tax poor live in solidly RED states in the deep south, and are Romney supporters. So go figure.

  4. You would think people would be more frightened by how many people like you are apparently believing such lies.
