Fox’s comedy "New Girl" has tapped two Hollywood Icons to play the parents of Zooey Deschanel’s character, Jess, reports EW.com’s Inside TV. The roles will be taken by actor and director Rob Reiner and actress and author Jamie Lee Curtis, the story reports.

Jess will see her parents during the show’s Thanksgiving episode, when the divorced pair meet and Jess tries to reunite them, the story says. The episode will air in November and will also feature Schmidt’s cousin, also named Schmidt and played by actor Rob Riggle.

The show’s second season debuts Sept. 25.
