Two of the flagship shows of the syndication business will be around for a few more seasons, thanks to a key renewal that was just announced.

CBS Television Distribution’s two top game shows, “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!,” were renewed through the 2015-16 season on the ABC Owned Television Stations Group, B&C reports. The announcement was made by CTD President of Sales Joe DiSalvo.

The renewal means the staples of the 7 p.m. hour will be on the air through season 33, in the case of “Wheel,” and season 32 for “Jeopardy!”

Rebecca Campbell, president of the ABC Owned Television Stations Group, said in a statement: "Our ABC-owned stations have been the local destinations for ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and ‘Jeopardy!’ for nearly 30 years. Both shows are strong perennial performers and we are thrilled to continue to offer them to our viewers and advertisers."

DiSalvo added: "The ABC O&Os have been a fantastic broadcast partner for ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and ‘Jeopardy!’ for the last few decades, and we look forward to many more years of this prosperous relationship. ‘Wheel’ and ‘Jeopardy!’ continue to hit primetime-size ratings every night and truly prove the power that syndicated programming brings to a station’s lineup."

Sony recently renewed the contracts of the shows’ three stars: “Wheel’s” Pat Sajak and Vanna White and “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek.
