Kevin Abbott, an executive producer of ABC’s "Last Man Standing" and the showrunner of the new ABC comedy "Malibu Country," has taken an indefinite medical leave to enter rehab, Nellie Andreeva reports on Deadline.com.

"I hear Abbott, a family man, made the decision to seek help and has the support of ‘Malibu Country’ star/executive producer Reba McEntire and her husband/manager, Narvel Blackstock, also an executive producer on the show," Andreeva writes.

"Malibu Country’s” senior writing and producing staff will divvy up his showrunner duties, and shooting on the show hasn’t been impacted by Abbott’s absence yet, the story says. "Malibu Country" will premiere Nov. 2.

Abbott’s leave also shouldn’t affect production on the Tim Allen show "Last Man Standing," the piece adds.
