A source is reporting that Beyonce has been tapped to perform during halftime at the upcoming Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Times reports. The game is set for Feb. 3, 2013, in New Orleans.

An announcement could come as soon as Wednesday, according to media reports.

Beyonce sang the national anthem at the 2004 Super Bowl, which was in Houston, her hometown.

“The ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’ singer will follow Madonna’s conversation-starting set in the 2012 game, which also featured Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.,” the Times reports. “Obvious potential guests for Bey include her husband Jay-Z, who performed a round of sets to open Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and her old bandmates in Destiny’s Child.”

The game is being held in New Orleans for the first time since Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans last hosted a Super Bowl in 2002.

  1. Oh…joy. Think I’ll just invite my band-mates over that day and have our own half-time show…and broadcast it on the web. YEAH, that’s the ticket!
