Syfy Orders Reality Show Pitting Teams Living in ‘Past’ and ‘Future’

A reality show called "Opposite Worlds," which pits a team living in the "past" against a team living in the "future," has been ordered by Syfy, which will air two episodes per week, reports Deadline.com.

Syfy picked up 12 episodes, with plans to air them over six weeks. The scheduling marks the first time Syfy has aired an original series twice a week, the piece notes.

The show, which is based on a popular Chilean format, picks 20 people and divides them into two teams, with one living in the "future" — a utopia where anything is available — and one in the "past," where competitors struggle for survival.

At the end of each week, the teams compete to find out who will be assigned to the past and who will be granted the future, the piece notes.
