Another Personnel Problem for ‘Two and a Half Men’? One of the Show’s Stars Calls the Show ‘Filth’ and Says He Wants Out

The CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men” apparently didn’t solve all of its personnel problems when it booted former star Charlie Sheen during his public meltdown almost two years ago. Now another of the show’s stars, Angus T. Jones, has gone public with some decidedly unflattering comments about the show, TVLine.com reports.

Jones, who has grown up on the show as Jon Cryer’s son Jake, now considers the program to be "filth," the story reports. Jones taped a video for a religious group called Forerunner Chronicles in which he denounces the Chuck Lorre comedy.

On the video, Jones testifies: “If you watch ‘Two and a Half Men,’ please stop watching ‘Two and a Half Men.’ I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it; please stop filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment. … Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch.”

Here’s the video, with Jones’ comments on the show starting around 7:35:

  1. Now that he has made all the money and has royalties for life, he has decided to criticize.

  2. Right — because as a young kid he was obviously able to make these sort of value judgments. And now he’s going public about his thoughts solely because he has enough money. Excellent drive-by analysis.
Or maybe he really feels the show is inappropriate for its targeted audience. I personally have no big problem with the show, OTHER THAN THE FACT that it airs in the so-called family hour in much of the country. This is clearly, by any reasonable measures, a very adult comedy and it has always been irresponsible of the network to air when it does.
If there’s any problem with this show, CBS is the primary offending party.

  3. As a good Christian Republican, I agree that it is filth. Good for Angus. He should go into politics, give us conservatives a real role model.
