An actor who was once a star on the most popular show on television now says he’s bankrupt, The Huffington Post reports. Gary Dourdan, who played Warrick Brown on the hit CBS drama “CSI,” filed for bankruptcy in August, according to a TMZ report.

“According to documents, the 45-year-old actor has $1.8 million in assets, but owes $1.73 million,” HuffPost reports. “A large chunk, specifically $1,689,704, is owed to various banks, one of which holds his mortgage.”

The actor spent eight seasons on “CSI,” leaving the show in 2008 after appearing on 183 episodes. TMZ reports that he now claims his monthly disposable income is $321. “He allegedly makes $14,883 per month, but $14,562 goes to bills. He ‘anticipates major acting roles’ in the future, however, which will help him pay off his debt,” Huffington Post reports, citing the TMZ story.

According to HuffPost: “The bankrupt Dourdan filed an injunction on Aug. 30 to prevent Wells Fargo from putting his Venice, Calif., home up for auction, CBS 42 reported. That same day, he filed bankruptcy papers.”

TMZ reported previously that Dourdan was arrested in June 2011 on suspicion of drug possession after being involved in a major traffic collision. Those charges were eventually dropped, but Dourdan has also reportedly had other drug-related skirmishes with the law, going back to 2008. HuffPost cites an AP report that indicates Dourdan was arrested that year for possession of cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and various prescription drugs, along with paraphernalia.
