The CW is readying a big sendoff for a show whose scandalous plot twists helped define the broadcast network for the past five years. The network will air a two-hour finale for "Gossip Girl," which will end its sixth and final season Dec. 17 at 8 p.m., reports TheWrap.com.

During the finale the network will air a peek at its upcoming "The Carrie Diaries," based on "Sex and the City’s" central character Carrie Bradshaw when she was growing up in the 1980s.

The finale broadcast will also include interviews with the cast of "Gossip Girl" and with the show’s creators, the story adds.

The CW said in a press release: "All will be revealed in the drama-filled series finale, featuring a look back at the unforgettable OMG moments of the series that made headlines, including interviews with the cast and creators themselves."
