A "revealing" film about the pop star Beyonce Knowles has been bought by HBO, which called the documentary "intimate" with "unprecedented access," reports The New York Times’ ArtsBeat. The film is produced by Knowles.

The singer’s representatives started shopping the film last summer. The project will include material shot by Knowles on her laptop, as well as concert footage and home movies, the story adds.

The film will debut Feb. 16 on HBO.

The report notes: “With HBO, Ms. Knowles gets a best-in-class home for an image-enhancing project; with Ms. Knowles, HBO gets a big star who’s all but guaranteed to bring in an audience. ‘Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming,’ she said in a statement on Monday.”
