NBC has bought a comedy script about a broken family from newcomers Jessie Miller and Bennett Wolin, marking the first sale for the pair, who are former writers’ assistants, reports Deadline.com.

The script for “The Messed Uptons” was bought via 20th Century Fox TV and studio-based Imagine TV, with Stacy Traub of "Glee" slated to executive produce the project, the piece notes.

The project tracks a 33-year-old named Jenn Upton, who realizes she’s the glue that keeps her broken family together, the story adds.
