NBC News confirmed that it has hired a former CBS and CNN anchor, reports The New York Times’ Media Decoder. Joining NBC’s "Weekend Today" will be Erica Hill, the piece reports.

Hill will co-host the Saturday and Sunday program with Lester Holt, while Jenna Wolfe, who has co-hosted the Sunday program for several years, will shift to become the news anchor on Saturdays and Sundays, the story notes.

Hill was recently a co-host of "CBS This Morning" before she was suddenly replaced by Norah O’Donnell after Hill came back from a vacation in July.

Hill’s hiring fills out the main cast of “Weekend Today,” which also recently added Dylan Dreyer as weather anchor. Hill will also be a national correspondent for NBC News, with her reports to be included in “Today,” “NBC Nightly News” and other programs.

  1. Poor Dylan Dreyer !!!!
What are they doing over there in NYC. One production mistake after the next. They’re sabotaging Dylan Dreyer’s career!! Get NYU’s college station to take over production. I’m certain they’d do a better job. Then you have Jenna Wolf calling out a fan on the rope line!! And the lady she was calling out is a Boston fan of Dylan’s. How humiliating for all invloved. It’s a train wreck over there. Dr. Nancy Shniederman just sitting there looking confused. The Saturday 11/4 Today Show broadcast was one for the ages, and I’m sure will be replayed many times in broadcast production courses across the county, as an example of what NOT to do. NBC is in full meltdown. It’s like the Hinderberg; horrible, but you can’t look away!

  2. The Titanic on dry land…MSNBC is the angry stepchild who needs to let go–then justh hire real investigate reporters who actually go out in the field and truly report the facts as we were taught in Journalism 101 2-3 sources to verify–we Never Never made up the news and/or shouted insults, name called women with violent sexist references,, degraded others for their political beliefs–but the facts teach and mistakes are made and corrected Not Covered Up.

  3. Personally I quit watching after Matt Lauer threw Ann curry under the bus, Ann was one of the few good ones in that business, I watch GMA, I’ve alway had problems with change, I grew up with the Today Show, GMA is finally growing on me, although I’m not especially fond of George “Snuff-a-luff-a-gus” he’s the Matt Lauer of GMA,:but I love Amy, I know she’s from the Today Show, I often wonder what happened there?
