A former “Saturday Night Live” cast member returns to the program as guest host for the show’s Christmas episode, Deadline.com reports, with a former Beatle scheduled as the musical guest.

Martin Short will return to "SNL” for his third hosting appearance on the Dec. 15 show, while Paul McCartney is booked for his fourth turn as the musical guest, the report notes.

Additionally, the show announced that Jamie Foxx will host the Dec. 8 episode, before the opening of his new film "Django Unchained" on Dec. 25. Ne-Yo will be the musical guest.

Short was an “SNL” cast member in the mid-1980s and is credited with helping to turn the show around after the departure of Eddie Murphy.
