A program from Fox News Channel fixture Bill O’Reilly has been bought by the National Geographic network, which wants to expand its original history-focused programming, reports The New York Times’ Media Decoder. The project is based on O’Reilly’s best-selling “Killing Kennedy.”

Director Ridley Scott will handle the production through his company, Scott Free. News Corp., which owns Fox News, also has a controlling stake in Nat Geo.

The deal follows Nat Geo’s production of O’Reilly’s "Killing Lincoln," which is also produced by Scott Free. That show is slated to air in February, the piece notes. Tom Hanks is narrating the project.
