CBS has given pilot orders to "Beverly Hills Cop" and the drama "Backstrom," with the latter from "Bones" creator Hart Hanson, reports Deadline.com.

The network also gave a pilot order to the comedy "Friends With Better Lives," from writer Dana Klein and producer Aaron Kaplan.

"Beverly Hills Cop" has cast Brandon T. Jackson as the lead, the son of the character Axel Foley from the original movies. Comedian and actor Eddie Murphy, who played Foley in the films, is set to appear in the pilot, the story says.

"Backstrom" is about a detective said to be the law-enforcement version of Dr. Gregory House, the story says. It’s based on the "Backstrom" books by Swedish criminologist and novelist Leif G.W. Persson.

"Friends With Better Lives" is about a group of 30-something friends who each think the other has a better life.
