Charlie Sheen Pays for Photographer’s Funeral

In what seems an unlikely connection between a celebrity and the family of a fallen paparazzo, actor Charlie Sheen has cut a check for $12,000 to help pay for the funeral of Chris Guerra, TMZ.com reports. Guerra, 29, died on New Year’s Day after being hit by a car while taking photos of Justin Bieber’s Ferrari, as previously reported.

“Turns out, Charlie is tight with a former photog who was friends with Guerra … and got word that the family was trying to raise money to cover the costs,” TMZ reports. “So Charlie, being Charlie, sprung into action and grabbed his checkbook.”

After being contacted by the website, Sheen provided a statement saying: "A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject. It’s an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future."

Sheen added: "As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved."
