Another freshman daytime talk show will be back for a second season. Deadline.com reports that NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution’s “Trisha Goddard” was picked up for season two in national syndication, joining NBCU freshman “Steve Harvey.”

“Unlike ‘Steve Harvey,’ which has been a breakout hit, ‘Trisha Goddard’ has been the lowest-rated among the new syndicated talk shows this season, partly because the show started in far less-trafficked time slots,” the story reports. “Since its debut, the one-hour talk show has been upgraded in major markets including Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, Phoenix, Las Vegas and more.”

“Trisha” has seen its numbers improve since its premiere, posting a 23% increase in viewership during the November sweeps over its premiere week.

“The conflict talk show, executive produced by Paul Faulhaber and hosted by TV personality Trisha Goddard, has been renewed in more than 85% of the country,” the report notes.

The show joins “Steve Harvey” and “Katie” as the only new talk shows to date to be firmed up for second seasons.
