One of the crop of new daytime talk shows jockeying to fill the void left by “Oprah” will get another season to establish itself. Katie Couric’s new talk show "Katie" has been officially renewed for a second season, the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports.

The announcement makes the show’s original two-year deal official, the story notes. The renewal was announced by the show’s distributor, Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

"Katie" has pulled steady ratings, averaging about 2.5 million viewers. It recently scored its biggest audience since its fall launch when Couric sat down with Manti Te’o, the Notre Dame football star at the center of a hoax, in his first on-camera interview about the hoax.
