The man who is the voice of Charlie Brown in a series of animated “Peanuts” TV specials was arrested over the weekend on felony charges including stalking and making threats, TheWrap.com reports.

Peter Robbins, 56, was arrested Sunday night at the border crossing between San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico, after a background check revealed he was wanted on a felony warrant by the San Diego Country Sheriff’s Department, the story reports, citing Ralph DeSio, a public affairs officer with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office.

“DeSio did not say what crimes Robbins allegedly committed, but the website for the San Diego County Jail, where he was transported and booked, says he faces five felony counts, including stalking and making a threat to cause death or bodily injury,” the piece reports. “Bail is set at $550,000.”

Robbins was due to be arraigned today.

“The 56-year-old actor was the doleful voice behind Charlie Brown on several of iconic TV specials that aired in the 1960s,” the story reports. “His ‘Peanuts’ work includes ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ and ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,’ and he also appeared on such shows as ‘My Three Sons’ and ‘F Troop,’ according to IMDb.”

The actor identifies himself as Peter "Charlie Brown" Robbins on his Facebook account, the piece notes.

  1. As bad as that sounds, I really hope there’s at least some kind of story behind it that lifts him out of the “Former Child Stars” Block of San Quentin. More and more of my childhood getting shredded like wet toilet paper on a barbed wire fence….
