The numbers are in for Katie Couric’s interview with Notre Dame football star Manti Te’o on the syndicated "Katie," and it’s a touchdown for the talk show host, reports TheWrap.com.

The episode, which aired Thursday, scored a 2.6/7 metered-market household rating — the highest rating for the show since its Sept. 10 debut. A more typical "Katie" hour is the one that ran Wednesday, which had a 1.9/5.

Te’o talked about the hoax involving a “girlfriend” who never existed, explaining why he perpetuated the hoax after learning the truth.

The Manti Te’o episode was up 30% over the show’s previous four-week average, and had “Katie” on top in its time slot in major markets New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia.
