MTV Shutting Down Unscripted Series

Jan 29, 2013  •  Post A Comment

MTV is shutting down production on an unscripted series that has attracted its share of controversy, the New York Post reports. The series is "Teen Mom 2," which has followed the lives of four women who became pregnant in high school.

The decision comes after star Jenelle Evans has been in the news for her erratic behavior, the story says. Since Thanksgiving, she got pregnant again, married, had a miscarriage and demanded a divorce, tweeting profanity-laden messages to her husband, the story says.

Producers were concerned that Evans had become a liability for the program, which aims to provide a cautionary tale about becoming a teen mother. Evans has been arrested seven times since her first appearance on MTV, the piece adds.

The fourth and last season of "Teen Mom 2" has already been taped and will air later this year.

  1. Sounds to me like her story would be a great “cautionary tale” about messing up your life!
