“30 Rock” creator and star Tina Fey has a musical in the works based on a Lindsay Lohan feature film, E! News reports. The project is based on the 2004 teen comedy “Mean Girls.”

Fey talked about the project at the SAG Awards, where Fey won the award for best actress in a comedy series for the NBC sitcom, as reported separately.

Said Fey: "I’m trying to develop it with my husband, who does all the music for ‘30 Rock,’ and I think Paramount’s on board."

Fey may have Mariah Carey in mind for a part in the production, the story says. Carey’s name came up in the context of her “American Idol” clash with Nicki Minaj, which the story reports focused on “Mean Girls.”

Fey reportedly said of the diva battle: "I loved it! And I think Mariah won. Like, Mariah seemed to really know all the characters."

The report adds: “During the spat, Ms. Carey was adamant that she was no Regina George and Tina agrees: ‘Maybe she can play Amy Poehler’s part in the musical.’"
