CBS has found the female lead for the newest installment in its “NCIS” franchise. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Kim Raver of "Grey’s Anatomy" will play the central role in the "NCIS: LA" spinoff "NCIS: Red."

The project is a back-door pilot that will be introduced in the spring as an episode of "NCIS: LA," the piece notes. It has yet to receive a series order.

Raver will co-star opposite John Corbett, known for his roles on "Parenthood" and "Northern Exposure."

Raver will play Special Agent Paris, the leader of the Red Team, which travels across the country to solve crimes. She’s a loner who has a high IQ and is also athletic and witty, the story says.
