Former CNET senior writer Greg Sandoval, who quit his job after CBS meddled in the website’s editorial coverage last month, has found a new job: working for the website that first dug into CBS’s interference, reports The New York Times’ Media Decoder.

The website The Verge hired Sandoval as a senior reporter, the story says. Sandoval wrote in a blog post that he had been given "written guarantee from management that nobody from the business side of the company will ever have any authority over my stories.”

As previously reported, Sandoval resigned from CNET in January after CBS blocked CNET from giving an award to Dish Network’s ad-skipping Hopper device, which is at the center of a lawsuit between CBS and Dish. Sandoval worked at CNET for seven years.

The Verge is a tech-focused site that’s owned by Vox Nation, and is the site that “first revealed the full extent of CBS’s involvement,” The Times reports.
