An Emmy Award-winning television writer was killed by an out-of-control pickup truck in Brooklyn, N.Y., reports the New York Post.
Martha Atwater, 48, had just bought cookies at the Bagel Cafe when the black Honda Ridgeline jumped the curb, pinning her against a building, the story said.
Police say the driver may have lost consciousness because of diabetes.
Atwater won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2009 for her writing on "Word World," a PBS children’s show. She was also nominated for Daytime Emmys for three successive years, 2001-2003, for her work on "Clifford the Big Red Dog," on which she was a producer.
