Fox News has hired a former Massachusetts senator as a contributor, TVNewser.com reports. Joining the cable channel is Scott Brown, who was elected to fill out the term of the late Ted Kennedy in the U.S. Senate in a special election in 2010.

Brown lost his bid last year to win a full term when Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren defeated him. Brown was the first Republican elected to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts in almost 40 years.

In a statement, Fox News Executive Vice President of Programming Bill Shine said: “Senator Brown’s dedication to out-of-the box thinking on key issues makes him an important voice in the country and we are looking forward to his contributions across all Fox News platforms.”

Brown debuted Wednesday night on “Hannity.”
