Mandy Moore has been cast as one of the leads in a new ABC comedy project, Deadline.com reports. The singer and actress, whose TV resume includes recurring roles on “Entourage,” “Scrubs” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” will appear in the single-camera pilot "Pulling," based on the 2006 British series, the piece reports.

“The pilot, written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky and directed by Jason Moore, revolves around three dysfunctional women in their 30s living their lives the way they want, even if society tells them they should have it all figured out by this point,” the story reports. “Moore plays one of them, Louise, who is optimistic and desperate to snag a husband — but her man-hungry tactics typically backfire.”

The project is from ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment, with Sharon Horgan and Dennis Kelly executive producing with Eisenberg, Stupnitsky and Aaron Kaplan. Horgan and Kelly created the original U.K. series.

“ABC has long had its eye on Moore,” the report notes. “The network produced a comedy pilot starring the actress last season and earlier this season bought a Rich Appel comedy project she was attached to with a put pilot commitment.”
