CBS is the latest network to be bitten by the “historic ratings low” bug, based on Nielsen overnights for Monday prime time.

TVbytheNumbers.com reports that three of the network’s series hit season lows or series lows in the key 18-49 demo — “Rules of Engagement” (down three-tenths from last week to a season-low 2.6 average rating), “2 Broke Girls” (down three-tenths to an all-time low of 3.2) and “Mike & Molly” (down a half-point to a season-low 2.7).

CBS’s best number was for “How I Met Your Mother,” which was steady with a 3.4 in viewers 18-49, good enough to come in as the night’s top-rated show on the broadcast nets. But with a “Hawaii Five-0” rerun airing at 10 p.m. (1.4 average), the network had to settle for a tie for second place in prime time overall.

ABC won the night with a 2.7 average in 18-49 for prime time, followed by Fox (2.5), CBS (2.5) and NBC (1.8). ABC also took a win in total viewers with 9.6 million to Fox’s 8.6 million, CBS’s 8.2 million and NBC’s 4.9 million.

ABC was paced by its two-hour “The Bachelor,” which dipped one-tenth of a ratings point from a week ago to a 2.9 in adults 18-49, while “Castle” remained even with a 2.3.

Fox saw “Bones” rise one-tenth to a 2.3 in the 18-49 demo while “The Following” slipped two-tenths to a 2.7.

NBC’s programming was even with last week in viewers 18-49 — a 2.1 for “The Biggest Loser,” and a 1.2 for “Deception.”
