One of the stars of the hit CBS comedy series “How I Met Your Mother” has scored a legal victory over an alleged stalker. The New York Daily News reports that Alyson Hannigan obtained a restraining order against the New Hampshire man ordering him not to post anything online about the actress and not to try to meet her.

“Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carol Boas Goodson issued a three-year restraining order against John Hobbs after a brief hearing Wednesday,” the publication reports. “Hannigan stated in court filings last month that Hobbs has posted a barrage of threatening messages about her and her family online.”

Hobbs, 43, reportedly admitted to police that he wanted to meet Hannigan, who also starred in the "American Pie" feature films.

“Goodson noted that Hobbs agreed to the terms of the restraining order and that Hannigan’s husband and two children also should be protected,” the report adds.
